2004-10-17 [Sotalean]: My costume is being made from scratch. Last year I didn't even have a pattern. This year I do but that's because I needed to use interfacing and stuff. I've never used that before. O.o

2004-10-17 [werethylacine]: Today I got the boots for mine! :: bounces:: I may completely re-work the top... the bottom looks so sleek, and then the top is made of a towel. Sorta. Anyways, it's bulky. I can't wait to see everyones' costumes!

2004-10-17 [Sotalean]: Hehe. Awesome. Mine was way to expensive to make for a costume. But i wanted to be as authentic as possible. That meant buying jaquard materail, suede and embroidered stuff. *huffs* It broke my purse for the longest time. But it's looking gorgeous!

2004-10-17 [werethylacine]: I'm lucky my mother is a recovering fabricaholic- sometimes she'll let me use fabric she once had plans for but never got around to using. Mine's far from being authentic, but it will be spiffy!

2004-10-21 [Stratakus]: If it's in reference to Wearing an old costume for this year, Yes, it is allowed. As long as it's a pic taken for this halloween and not last summers Anime convention or such.

2004-10-21 [Stratakus]: Mother made is still home made. It's allowed. Rented or bought from a costume shop where they're made by cheap sweat shop workers aren't allowed though.

[irulan] will also keep this contest in check, because this commentsection is pretty popular and I couldn't keep up myself. I also told mothermade isn't allowed, because then everybody will have their mothers make the costume which doesn't seem fair to me: poem and art are also supposed to be done by yourself, not by your mother.

There happen to be alot of mom's and dad's in Elftown, just check out the Elvenwood Silver Years Club to see, I hope you're not discriminating against us just because we happen to have kids.

2004-10-21 [Sunrose]: If you are a member here and you made it and you post it here, then it's made by you. My point is not that mothers/fathers can't enter the contest, my point is that people who enter the contest should make the costumes themselves. There are members who will ask their mom/dad at home to make the costume and then post the costume under their own name, whilst they didn't make it. I think that is not fair.

2004-10-25 [vagabond faery]: I made the bodice, arm bands, skirt, clay pointed ear, and I changed the shoes. The only things bought were the wings, the fishnet shirt, and the stockings. I also cut up the stockings. Im pretty sure that counts as made, but if not, I can take the pic off.
